The Society started 2014 with an interesting visit to a home hydroponic garden in Melbourne’s bayside area. Andrew generously opened his home to us to have our meeting.
Andrew’s pride and joy is a home made plastic igloo full of healthy tomatoes, strawberries and cucumbers. He remarked it has been his best year ever for the tomatoes with his crop of 16 plants grown in a recirculating system using the MOSS TOMATO TOWER containers. He showed us how easy and productive hydroponic gardening can be. To avoid whitefly infestations he hasn’t planted any bean crops which attract these annoying pests. He is now bean free.
Our next meeting is on the 3rd Sunday of February, see you there.
