Our final meeting for 2015 was held in Selby on the outskirts of Melbourne and we had fantastic attendance of 27 members and guests. Being a nice mild Sunday morning the meeting part of the morning was held on a balcony area overlooking the garden and orchard.
Our president, Brenton, discussed up coming events in the club and the free seeds available to members which alone is equal to the cost of membership. Next we had a round table discussion which everyone had an opportunity to talk about their hydroponic garden and ask questions to the crowd.
After morning tea, the group descended on Mark and Sue’s garden for a good look around and there was a lot to see. Above we have the moment when Mark introduced Fred to Fred (the goat) which provided amusement to many.
Things to look at in the garden:
- Three decent sized glasshouses featuring a variety of automatic watering systems.
- A solar powered watering system.
- An orchard with many types of fruit tress including a magnificent avocado tree with an abundance of fruit.
- Goats (for lawn mowing), chickens, bees and visiting kookaburra.
A good time was had by all so if you like what you see why not join us?
