Meeting October- St Erth garden tour

The Garden of St Erth was an interesting destination for a morning trip by our club. Members strolled through the gorgeous and inspirational gardens, stock up on vegetable seedlings and plants, then head to the café for a cuppa with scones.
Our President, Brenton welcomed everyone first up in the carpark before we entered the gardens, and we had a fair turn out considering the early start for some. Thelma and Cliff presented Brenton with a hand made, self watering hydroponic kit for growing herbs and small plants.  We will try and post up a photo of it in full bloom.

Next we entered the gardens, picked up maps and looked around in groups at veggies patches, flower beds and fruit trees. The gardens were still in winter mode however still wonderfully productive. Also of interest to those with small gardens, was the extensive planting of espalier fruit trees, no need to have large areas of your garden dominated by big trees, this technique keeps your trees manageable and productive.
