Today I picked the first tomato from the trial run of the “Swanson” Variety for a taste test and it passed with flying colours and was typical of the Beef Steak variety with little seeds and good flesh. The skin was not as tough as the traditional “Elanto” tomato. It is of note that the plant has rather small foliage when considering the fruit load, it can carry.
The plant may be grown as a Beefsteak variety, Discard the first truss, followed by 4 fruit on the next 2 trusses and then 3 fruit on the next few and then 2 etc. for best yield.
